Jimmy Shergill
Jasjit Singh Gill,born 3 December 1970, popularly known as Jimmy Shergil, is an Indian actor.Shergill is married to Priyanka Puri from Delhi and they have a son named Veer Shergill.
Early life
Shergill was born in a Jatt Sikh family in Gorakhpur, India and studied there till 5th Grade in St. Paul's School. Then, his family shifted to Patiala (Punjab). He studied at Yadavindra Public School(YPS), Patiala, and completed his graduation from Government Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala. Shergill born in a Jatt Sikh family in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, He later moved to Punjab the place of his ancestors where Shergill studied in Punjab Public School, Nabha & Bikram College Patiala. He learnt acting from Sri Harpaul Singh , and after learning moved to mumbai city. He lost his mother when he was young
Film career
He started his career with Maachis, a movie based on terrorism in North India. The film was critically acclaimed and did reasonably well at the box office. Jimmy has since worked in many films but only few have been successful. He starred in My Name is Khan alongside Shahrukh Khan and Kajol.
Shergill has performed a variety of roles in various films such as Munna Bhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munnabhai, Delhi Heights and A Wednesday. He has been a critically acclaimed performer ever since his entry into Bollywood. His role in Mohabbatein was well appreciated. He went on to act in Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai and Tanu Weds Manu.
One of his best performances was in the movie Yahaan where he plays the role of an Army Officer who falls in love with a Kashmiri girl in the strife torn valley of Kashmir & Haasil where he plays the role of a college student who gets roped into the infamous student politics of Allahabad University.
